Jörg Heumüller is the owner of IVGHUB.COM. He was born in the same city as the Leica Wetzlar/Germany and completed training as a precision mechanic at Leitz / Leica and Leica repair technician. He has been working as such for more than 35 years and has Expertise in numerous vintage Leica product lines including screw mount cameras, M cameras, SLRs, lenses, binoculars, slide projectors and much more.

In the 90s, Jörg and his company “European Camera Service” were the Leica authorized repair technicians in Australia. Please note that we only offer analogue Leitz/Leica products repair.

Below is a listing of the steps to indicate a general service repair.

– dismantle the Camera
– removing the rangefinder from the camera
– cleaning the slow speed mechanism for longer shutter speeds
– lubricate and adjust the shutter
– overhauled the shutter brake
– clean and lubricate the internal mechanisms, flash trigger, film spool
– clean and lubricate the self-timer
– cleaning the viewfinder
– adjust the shutter tension, the shutter speed and the shutter brake
– lubricate the shutter mechanism, the film transport and the film rewinding
– check the collimation, the distance from the bayonet to the film plane, the flash function,
the release, the film transport, function of the shutter on the base plate.
– adjusting the rangefinder
– general cleaning of the camera exterior, renewal of colors in the lettering and numbers
on the shutter speed wheel
– clean and lubricate the self-timer
– assembling the camera
– Overall control final check of all functions of the Camera.

– reasemble the focus mechanism and adjust the settings
– lubricate the shutter mechanism, the film transport and the film rewinding
– check the focus cam.
– general cleaning of the camera exterior, renewal of colors in the lettering and numbers.
– clean and lubricate the self-timer
– assembling the Lens
– Overall control final check of all functions of the Lens.
